dock

Some days, living my best life means sitting on a dock in the BVI soaking up the sun.

Some days, it means sitting with my guitar and writing a new song.

Some days, it means sitting in front of my laptop and designing a webpage or new merchandise.

It all lights me up! What lights you up?

🎶 Come with me and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination 🎶

As I begin to sort through hundreds of videos and photographs from VI Jam Fest I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. For years now, my daydreams have included imaginings of my part in a musical lineup with artists that I love and admire…and in those dreams I was always here on the island. Thanks to the vision of Cruz Bay Music and Moe Angelo of Becoming The Lotus – along with the hard work and support of so many amazing people – that daydream is now a reality. To all the performers and all the helping hands, THANK YOU FOR THE MAGIC.

As I am settling back into island life, and looking forward to the last few weeks left in 2016, I cannot help but think back over the year. It has been packed full of “bucket list” items. I want to bask in these memories so that I don’t get lost in the daily “to do” list. It is so easy to feel a dash (or a bucket load) of anxiety creep in when that second list becomes the only focus. In those moments, I want to redirect my attention to the things I have accomplished and the magic that I have experienced. Those memories are what will keep me inspired to continue living out my dreams and encourage the people around me to do the same. So, as I clean my apartment and pay my bills, today, I will remember this beach in Anegada that I finally had the opportunity to sail to this year. To everyone with whom I have been blessed to share these adventures, I send you all of my love and gratitude

Some days are easier than others.  For those that are not, remember to be gentle with yourself.  Focus on the things that offer relief. Trust that it will pass.  Don’t stop believing that you can have all that you have dreamed of, even if it doesn’t feel like it in this moment.  And remember to be kind to one another…we all have hard days.
